Are you looking for a fun, adventurous, and rewarding side gig in the Triangle Area of North Carolina? Do you want to make a positive impact in the lives of others and be a part of something special? If so, read on and consider joining the Roadless Races team.
Roadless Races creates fun, friendly, and physically challenging trail running and mountain bike races in the Triangle Area of North Carolina. Our goal is to create exceptional events, facilitate personal accomplishment, and to build a community of fulfilled and happy trail racers.
Roadless Races started in 2019 with one successful smile-inducing race, the Zen Squirrel Trail Run. We had several in-person races planned for 2020 but then COVID hit, so we produced virtual events instead. We did more virtual events in 2021 and then eased back into in-person events during the latter half of the year. We were back in full swing in 2022 and produced one motivating virtual event and five fun-soaked in-person events. In 2023, we’re bringing back all events from 2022 and also adding a new race to the lineup. In the future, we will continue adding races each year until we have a well-rounded schedule of trail races that properly serve the Triangle Area of NC. We are looking for a few new operational staff members to join our team for 2023 and beyond. Might one of those be you?
Roadless Races staff are the heartbeat of our organization. Come rain or shine, dawn to dusk, this special group of positive-spirted people cheerfully jump in to do whatever is needed to make it all happen on race weekend, from directing parking, to managing check-in, to working aid stations, to marking race courses, to helping with timing, to distributing food, etc, etc. From set up to clean up, our staff does it all and has a ton of fun along the way.
If you are a fun, friendly, dependable, energetic, enthusiastic, and empathetic team player who loves the outdoors, building community, and doing good, then we encourage you to apply for a position on our staff.
All six of our 2023 races are on Saturday mornings and are scheduled for 4/1, 5/6, 7/22, 8/12, 10/21, and 12/2. Course marking and set up happens the afternoon before the race. Availability on set up day is not required, but if you can make a few of them, awesome. Staff time commitment on race day is 8-10 hours, starting at 5am. Staff should be available to work at least four of the six races. Experience is not required – we will train you. Pay range is $12-$15/hour.
If interested, please send us an email describing why you would like to become a Roadless Races operational staff member and what skills and qualities you possess that would make you a great addition to the Roadless Races team. While not required, if you have a resume you would like to send, feel free to attach to the email. Please send your email by Sunday 2/26/23 to info@roadlessraces.com and include ‘I want to join the RR staff’ in the subject line.
