Cedarock Trail Run

Upgrade to Trails

Overview

The Cedarock Trail Run is a super-fun and very social springtime event where solo racers and relay teams battle it out on four, unique 5K+ loop courses.  Run 5K, 10K, or Half Marathon solo or grab a friend (or two or three) to form a half marathon relay team.  Cedarock Park is located in Burlington, NC and is an easy drive from Chapel Hill, Durham, Raleigh, Greensboro, and Winston-Salem. We’re going to have a blast in May and hope to see you there.

Course Maps and Description

The Cedarock Trail Run course is comprised of four unique, 5K+ loops (A, B, C, and D). Loop A for solo 5Kers, Loops A and B for solo 10Kers, and Loops A, B, C, and D for Half Marathoners (solo and relay teams of 2-4). Loops must be run in succession.

At the start of each loop. racers will run 0.3 – 1.1 miles of wide road, paved trail, or grassy fields before hitting the trails. After this beginning section, athletes run along a combination of forested single-track and wide equestrian trails. Loop A starts with 1.1 miles of pavement, open fields, and wide trail, followed by single-track. Loop B is primarily single-track and Loop C and D are mostly equestrian trails. The courses will be well-marked and course marshals will be positioned at critical spots.  There are plenty of passing opportunities spread throughout.  We would categorize these trails as minimally technical, with some root and rock filled sections and several punchy hill climbs.  In terms of elevation gain, Loops A, B, C, and D have 233′, 174′, 267′, and 222′ of gain, respectively.

The Deets – Relay Teams (Fun with Friends!)

Adventures are more fun with friends so gather some friends and enter the Half Marathon Relay.  Your two to four member relay team will complete all loops (A, B, C, and D).  Each team member will complete at least one loop and teams can choose the runner that will complete each of the four loops. Each member of a relay team will have the same numbered bib and each team will be provided with a timing chipped baton.  After completing each loop of the race, relay racers will pass the chipped baton to the ‘on-deck’ racer, who will be waiting in the staging area. Competing on a relay team is a super-fun way to race with friends.  Relay team divisions are Male, Female, and Mixed.

If you are the first person to register for your team, you will create the team.  After that, the rest of the team members will join the team during registration.
