Sprocket Fuelers Update Email #1 – 9 Days In, 23 To Go!

Hello Sprocket Fuelers,

Now that we are a little over one week into the challenge, I wanted to send a quick email with some stats, updates, and giveaways.  First though, I would like to congratulate all of you for accepting this challenge and committing to ride more.  Now more than ever, striving to reach goals, having fun, and being active are great ways to stay healthy physically, mentally, and emotionally.  Good on ya!

Cool stat – of the 68 riders signed up for this challenge, eight different states (and DC) are represented.  From my home in North Carolina to your home in Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Maryland, Missouri, North Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and Washington DC – WELCOME!

Mileage Breakdown – at the end of the day today (Thursday, July 23rd), we will have finished 9 out of the 32 total riding days of the Sprocket Fuel MTB Challenge.  If you are following daily average mileage goals of 3.125 miles/day for the 100 milers or 6.25 miles/day for the 200 milers, this would put you at 28.125 miles or 56.25 miles respectively.  If you are near that target, ‘way to go’ and if you are not quite there yet, no worries – there are still 23 days left in the challenge, including four Saturdays and three Sundays.

Wow – I did want to give a congratulatory shout out to Albert Gumabay of Reston, VA and Mike Harris of Sedona, AZ for already meeting and surpassing their mileage goals, with 212.559 miles and 110.19 miles respectively.  After only 9 days of riding – that is AMAZING!

Swag – We have the head wraps and magnets in stock – and they both look FABULOUS!  We are going to place the tee order on July 30th, the day after registration closes.  We will get all swag (tees, head wraps, magnets, and any extra items you purchased or won as a giveaway) in the mail by Aug 7th at the latest.  So, you should receive your pack of goodness by Aug 14th (even for you AZ folks).

Registration and Referral Rewards – Registration closes on July 29th so if you know anyone that would like to join the challenge, there’s still time.  If your friends are routed to the signup page from your referral link (which was sent to you in a separate email and was also on your confirmation email), you will get credit for their registration.  Refer 5 riders and receive a $25 refund.  Refer 10 rider and receive another $25 refund and a Roadless Races trucker hat.  If you need helping tracking down your referral link, let me know.  Thanks for helping to spread the word.

Giveaways – please remember to use #sprocketfuelmtbchallenge when you post photos and/or GPS tracks from your rides to social media.  You could win a prize!  On that note, the winners of the first round of giveaways are Mike Greto and Rodd Kugler, two sprocket fuelers who used the hashtag.  Mike and Rodd, you have each won a sweet Roadless Races trucker hat.  Congrats!   We’ll do more giveaways throughout the challenge.

OK, everyone.  That’s all for now.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at the contact info below.

Have fun and keep on truckin’.
